UP Circle of Landscape Architecture Students are selling shirts for the benefit of jeepney drivers displaced from their livelihood since the lockdown in mid-March, or 7 months too long.

The shirts are in black and white with “Biyahero/Biyahera” printed in front, using the common jeepney signage style and neon colors.

Shirts are available for pre-order at P499 each until October 30 and will be delivered after this month.

All proceeds of the shirts will be for the benefit of displaced jeepney drivers.

There were 208 routes and 17,372 jeepney units in Metro Manila allowed to return to operations in 50% seating capacity. But 408 routes and 58,000 jeepney units remain not in operation due the existing prohibitions by the government pandemic response and transport regulatory agencies. PISTON said those jeepney drivers who were unable to earn their livelihood amount to 116,000 individuals–the drviers’ families–going hungry.
