In time for President Rodrigo Duterte’s 100th day in office, groups led by Movement for Change and Bagong Alyansang Makabayan Metro Manila marched to Mendiola dubbed as “Martsa sa Isang Daan Tungo sa Tunay at Makabulughang Pagbabago.”
Before the march, different multi-sectoral gatherings were held in different locations. An ecumenical prayer gathering was held at the Kartilya ng Katipunan Shrine in Manila to support the ongoing peace talks between Government of the Philippines (GRP) and National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) and call to end drug-related killings.
Workers on the other hand, held a picket-rally at the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to call for an end to contractualization.
Meanwhile, vendors and tri-wheel operators and drivers stormed the Manila City Hall to oppose sidewalk clearing operations and tri-wheels phase out.
