Groups call for justice a day after 3-month old River Emmanuelle passed away. Baby River, born with low birth weight, yellow skin discoloration and suffering from diarrhea, was separated from her political prisoner mother Reina Mae Nasino only 6 weeks after birth, after motions to the court for the mother and newborn to be together were denied. River was hospitalized for recurring fever, loose bowel and difficulty breathing just 6 weeks after separation from her mother. She succumbed to pneumonia after two weeks.

Youth groups gather at the Iglesia Filipina Independiente National Cathedral in Manila, just across Philippine General Hospital where River passed away hours before, at 8:50pm on October 9.
