Multisectoral groups joined the mobilization protest in the House of Representatives to express firm indignation following the intent of legislators who are allied to the president to kick-off charter change before the start of 2022 presidential election polls.

This motive drew ire among protesters as charter change has long been campaigned to push through even before President Duterte is seated, reiterating the priorities that the government should attend to in the first place. Especially that the country is yet to contain the coronavirus pandemic not to mention the issues regarding the vaccine procurement.

Charter change is indeed a long process requiring comprehensive debates and shelling out money upon conducting plebiscite where Filipinos would vote on the amendment proposals.
