The protest rally from Welcome Rotonda to Mendiola called for the junking of rice tariffication law anew. Farmers from Central Luzon, Southern Tagalog and Ilocos provinces led the protest. Workers, women, urban poor and youth joined the protest to support the farmers’ calls.
Protesters paraded and burned a 14-ft. effigy depicting ‘President Rodrigo Duterte as a monstrous bird of prey, or raptor that attacks the weak and powerless.’
