Last October 25,the indigenous peoples of Mindanao set foot on the nation’s capital. Dubbed Manilakbayan ng Mindanao 2015, the caravan’s aim is to bring to the public’s attention pressing issues such as human rights violations and mining plunder, which are severely affecting Lumad communities.
Progressive peoples’ organizations based in Manila warmly welcomed the Manilakbayan contingents.
