Alyansa Damayan ng Mamamayan (ADAMM) was established in Muntinlupa City aiming to unite and build a movement to campaign for the right to housing and P203 wage increase across the board nationwide alongside lambasting the continuing crisis on inflation and oil price surges.

Delegates from five out of nine barangays represented and shared their equal struggles in facing the country’s crisis that the new administration has yet to address.

When Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. sat in power, the country has recorded the highest inflation with 6.1 percent in June 2022. According to Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), it is the highest recorded inflation since October 2018.

During the Duterte administration and his Build build build program, residents of National Bilibid Prison (NBP) reservation area faced threats of demolition due to the privatization of the compound’s more than 366.7 hectares. More than 40,000 families are affected.

It materialized when the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) then built a wall along Insular Road in Southville 3 in which the residents are obliged to traverse a long way and shell out thrice as the amount they were paying for transportation.

“Naaprubahan ang kalsada mula Biazon Rd papunta sa Magdaong tagos sa Katihan, kaya ang mamamayan sa Magdaong ay nakaambang mapapalayas. Ihahapag namin ang mga problemang ito kay Mayor Biazon sa kanyang opisina,” said the alliance.

[The plan for road widening was approved from Biazon Road to Magdaong then to Katihan that the residents feared for possible eviction. We will call the attention of Mayor Biazon to attend to this issue.]

In the upcoming State of the Nation Address of Marcos Jr. this July 25, the alliance swore that they will continue mobilizing the Muntinlupa residents and reiterating for immediate resolution on various campaigns including the moratorium to stop the demolition of homes.
