The difference between confirmed cases that the Department of Health (DOH) announces everyday and is included in the worldwide tally and the number of individuals who tested positive have breached the 50,000-mark for the first time. This number is the number of cases the DOH have yet to validate in order to be included in the number of confirmed cases.

A total of 314,496 individuals have tested positive, while the DOH have confirmed 261,216 COVID-19 cases as of September 14. There is a difference of 53,280 cases between those that tested positive and those that the DOH have confirmed.

The DOH also reported 7,492 testing backlogs on this day.

The DOH newly-reported cases per day still come from date with onset of illness as far back as March. The newly-reported deaths per day are deaths that happened from April to September.
