45 new COVID-19 cases among health workers, 8,618 total as of Sept 14

The Department of Health (DOH) Beat COVID-19 Philippine Situationer with data as of September 14 recorded 45 new COVID-19 cases in a day among health workers, bringing the total to 8,618. One in every 31 confirmed COVID-19 case in the country is a health worker.

The Health agency reported 554 active cases among health workers, with 17 cases added in a day.

The DOH also tagged 27 new recoveries, bringing the total recoveries to 8,007.

Total deaths among health workers is now at 57, after 1 new death among health workers were recorded. The DOH has recorded a total of 4,630 deaths.

A total of 314,496 individuals have tested positive, while the DOH have confirmed 261,216 COVID-19 cases. There is a difference of 53,280 cases between those that tested positive and those that the DOH have confirmed. The DOH also reported 7,492 testing backlogs on this day.

The Philippines ranked first in the number of total cases in the Southeast Asian region, having 39,693 more cases than Indonesia (221,523) that ranked second. Singapore reported 57,454 cases, Malaysia 9,946 and Thailand 3,475, rounding off the five countries with the most cases in the region.
