The Department of Health (DOH) Situationer Report with data as of August 2 recorded 88 new confirmed COVID-19 cases among health care workers, bringing the total cases to 5,096 or 5% of the cases in the country. This means 1 of 20 COVID-19 cases in the country is a health worker.
There were 76 additional active cases, bringing the total to 405, with 1 critical, 2 severe, 268 mild and 134 asymptomatic cases among health workers.
One new death was recorded on August 2. Previous this, the last death recorded was on July 30.
The total confirmed cases in the country has also breached the 100,000-mark, with 103,185. Those who tested positive reached 141,991. The difference between the DOH-confirmed and those who tested positive is at 38,806, lower by 2,326 than yesterday. The DOH also recorded 4,116 testing backlogs.
