The Department of Health (DOH) Beat COVID-19 Philippine Situationer with data as of September 15 recorded 47 new COVID-19 cases in a day among health workers, bringing the total to 8,665. One in every 31 confirmed COVID-19 case in the country is a health worker.

The Health agency reported 584 active cases among health workers, with 30 cases added in a day.

The DOH also tagged 16 new recoveries, bringing the total recoveries to 8,023.

Total deaths among health workers is now at 58, after 1 new death among health workers were recorded. The DOH has recorded a total of 4,663 deaths.

A total of 317,608 individuals have tested positive, while the DOH have confirmed 269,407 COVID-19 cases. There is a difference of 48,201 cases between those that tested positive and those that the DOH have confirmed. The DOH also reported 6,565 testing backlogs on this day.

The Philippines ranked first in the number of total cases in the Southeast Asian region, having 44,377 more cases than Indonesia (225,030) that ranked second. Singapore reported 57,488 cases, Malaysia 9,969 and Thailand 3,480, rounding off the five countries with the most cases in the region.
