In the Department of Health (DOH) Situationer Report posted on July 26 with data as of July 25, there were 228 new COVID-19 cases among health workers recorded in a day, while 106 more active cases were also reported. This brings the total of COVID-19 cases to 4,443, while active cases are at 951 (21.4%).
Among the health care frontliners who contracted COVID-19, nursed topped the tally with 1,585. Others infected include 1,203 physicians, 297 nursing assistants, 197 medical technologists, 107 radiologic technologists, 78 midwives, 42 respiratory therapists, 37 pharmacists and a total of 694 non-medical staff.
Non-medical staff infected in the line of duty include 356 admin staff, 139 utility, 58 dietary staff, 56 drivers, 40 barangay health workers, 30 security guards and 15 caregivers.
