To make matters worse (sorry, I’m really running out of word to best describe this cheap news), the Aquino administration has simply downplayed it and insisted that the “laglag-bala” issue has been sensationalized. Aquino justified it by saying that only about 1,200 out of 34 million passengers annually have been apprehended for possession of ammunition at the NAIA so this is really no big deal. E DI WAW! MALIIT NA BAGAY LANG PALA! Sa halip na magpakita ng tapang itong si PNoy at maglatag ng kongretong gagawin para matigil ang modus na ito, nagawa pa niyang maliitin ang sinapit na harassment at trauma ng napakaraming biktima. I could not believe that a classy establishment such as the Balesin Island Club, whose owners are probably generally educated and mannered, would perpetuate such kind of discriminatory term for a meal. There was even some ruckus about who would be allowed to order the ‘yaya meal’ or if the yayas could not be ordered food beyond the one named after them. GOSH! It seemed more and more to the spectators of this issue that the Balesin Island Club is as exclusive as it is elitist, even bigoted! Bakit naman kasi kailangan pang gamitin ang term na “yaya” to pertain to that specific meal? Hindi ba pwedeng “budget meal” na lang or “low cost food” ang gamitin since ‘yun naman talaga ang ibig nilang sabihin? Yes, this counts as an insensitive act and we should not tolerate it! Alam kong maliit na usapin lamang ito dahil mas marami pang porma ng discrimination sa lipunan na hinayaan lang natin. Gaya nga ng sabi ni Tito Boy Abunda, we tolerate the use of the term driver’s quarter and maid’s quarter for the drivers and maids and yet we are very much affected by the “yaya meal” issue. Totoo naman. I guess I’m just expecting more from the Balesin Club members bilang mga nakapag-aral at nakakakain nang sapat. Well, at least marunong talaga ang Diyos. I am for the separation of church and state. But if you don’t practice it, you don’t have any right to demand for it! Do what you preach kumbaga. The Senate investigation has ended but what happened to its recommendations?! The investigating panel headed by Sen. The attacks on the Lumad of Mindanao is just crazy! I am beyond angry with the fact that our very own government, particularly the military and paramilitary groups of the present administration, is the one harassing, intimidating and persecuting the helpless indigenous people (IPs) in favor of the capitalists. GRABE LANG! Since 2011, there has been more than 80 recorded incidents of state-instigated attacks on the IPs which resulted in more than 70 deaths and more than 3,000 displacements. Ang sakit isipin na pinapatay ang mga walang kalaban-laban na mga katutubo para lamang mapaalis sila sa kanilang lupain at magamit ito for “development projects.” How can we expect help from the government knowing the fact that it’s the reason for their suffering and deaths?! How can we expect the AFP to protect them if they are the one persecuting the IPs?! So much for justice!

On top of this, the Philippines has the highest value added tax with 12%. So in sum, parang lumalabas na 44% ang overall tax natin (32% + 12% VAT). SIGE PA! TAX PA! Kulang na kulang tayo sa tax. College is the perfect time to study the society kasi magiging busy na kayo nang todo kapag nagtrabaho na kayo. You should maximize your college education by mastering not only your course but more so the nuances and intricacies of the world. Iwasan nating maging HILAW paglabas ng college na tipong magaling lang sa acads pero walang alam sa society. Ayoko pa namang kinakausap ang mga ganyang tao! Para silang aliens. Nakalutang sa realidad ang mga pinagsasabi nila! Gosh.

Huwag din po sana nating i-condemn ang mga students na piniling lumabas sa apat na sulok na paaralan para aralin ang lipunan. Hindi mo kailangang humawak ng placard at maging duguan para masabing may pakilaaman ka. Maraming porma ang aktibismo at maraming paraan para maipakita ito. But the point is, WE SHALL NOT CONDEMN THEM! Pinili lang nila ang ganitong porma ng pagpapahayag pero hindi sila ang kalaban so ‘wag kayong BV sa kanila. OK?! Again, hindi sila ang kalaban!

Sa huli, masyadong demanding maging tao. Maraming kailangang aralin para maging totoong matalino. Kung hindi mo kayang pag-aralan nang sabay ang acads and society, I suggest maging halaman ka na lang. Mas magiging simple pa ang buhay mo.

Hindi ko naiintindihan kung bakit may mga Pilipinong humihinging ibalik ang mga Marcos sa gobyerno. Nakakatawa. Para kayong ninakawan sa bahay tapos tinawag niyo ulit ‘yung same na magnanakaw para nakawan ulit kayo. Pwede ba magbasa-basa tayo ng history books! The stories about the horrors of the Marcos regime are everywhere so I don’t need enumerate them here. READ THEM! I am deeply appalled by the fact the Filipinos nowadays are becoming so uncritical and forgetful that they misconstrue the dark old days as the heydays of the Philippine politics.

At ‘wag niyo rin akong paandaran ng argument na iba sa Bongbong Marcos sa tatay niya at ang kasalanan ng ama ay hindi kasalanan ng anak. Please, let’s not patronize this misguided notion! Sumasakit ang bangs ko sa argumentong ganito. Remember that both of them are from the same clan, so they only share the same interests. Bongbong himself witnessed and lived through Martial Law and enjoyed all the favors his family got from it up to this day! Which is why they still wield affluence and influence in the north. Gosh naman! Konting gamit naman ng utak. See the bigger picture!

P.S. RIP Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago. So much for your anti-graft and corruption advocacy! You just dig your own grave by choosing a Marcos to be your running mate. Pairing up with Bongbong Marcos (who lied about his educational records) might be strategic to further your political clout (as this gives you solid votes from the North and other Marcos-controlled regions) and stage a national presidential campaign, but this political move has a lot to say about your principles and credibility. Just sad! I no longer feel the need and the desire to read your best-selling book because you just showed by example that stupid is truly FOREVER. I rest my case.

SA WAKAS!!! After 42 years of waiting and expecting, we regained the Miss Universe crown! Talaga namang nagdiwang ang buong sangkabaklaan sa kakaibang husay at galing na ipinakita ni Ms. Pia Wurtzbach sa kakatapos lamang na pageant! Yes, naging kontrobersiyal ang announcement (which makes it more historic and unforgettable), but in the end, Ms. Pia Wurtzbach is the OFFICIAL AND FINAL Ms. Universe 2015. End of discussion. Deadma na sa mga bitter na contestants at sa mga haters ni Pia. Nasa ulo na niya ang korona. Naitama na ng host ang mali niya. Tapos na ang laban. Panalo ang Pilipinas. TAPOS! Hayaan na natin ang mga bashers na manggalaiti. After all, kaya nga sila bashers, di ba? Hobby nila ang mang-bash so hayaan na nating gawin nila ang trabaho nila.

As to the controversy surrounding Pia’s answer about the US bases in the Philippines, yes, it is an ambiguous statement that evaded the bases issues and concentrated more on American culture in our culture, but it was the perfect one considering that she is in in front of the American crowd and she is physically in the US at that moment. Ayaw naman nating makuyog si Pia ng mga Amerikano, right?! I personally think there is a more sensitive answer, but it’s her opinion based on what she knows about the issue and the context of her situation and we can’t blame her for that. And besides, she is in the pageant with the main objective of bringing home the crown. So, goal achieved si gurl! Period.

Congrats, Pia! Salamat at inilaban mo ito para sa bansa. Saludo kame sa’yo! Kapag ako nagka-parlor, sagot ko ang hair care needs mo! Pak!
