Progressive groups marched near the US Embassy in Manila in solidarity to Global day of Action against US war vs Iran.

The groups called on the US government to stop provoking wars against its perceived enemy states around the world.

The US missile strike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and nine others in Baghdad on January 3 drew condemnation from people around the world.

[The US military attacks on Iran soldiers on Iraq soil are brazen violations of the sovereignty of Iraq and Iran.]

He related these acts of the US to the Philippines’ defense agreements with the US, such as the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) and Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA). He called on President Rodrigo Duterte to end the VFA and the EDCA, not because Senator Ronald Dela Rosa’s US visa cancellation, but because the agreements tramples on the country’s sovereignty.

Duterte declared that he will cancel the VFA if Dela Rosa’s visa will be cancelled and if it will not be reissued.

[No one else benefits from this war but Trump, the US and multinational corporations who profit from producing war machinery and from subjecting other countries to their rule to get their resources.]
