The Department of Health (DOH) Beat COVID-19 Philippine Situationer with data as of August 20 recorded 93 new COVID-19 cases in a day among health workers, bringing the total to 6,319.
The DOH also tagged 42 recoveries, bringing the total recoveries to 5,696.
The Health agency reported 584 active cases among health workers, after 51 active cases were added in a day.
Deaths remain at 39 since August 2.
A total of 219,573 individuals have tested positive, while the DOH have confirmed 178,022 COVID-19 cases. There is a difference of 41,551 cases that tested positive that the DOH have yet to validate to know whether this number would be included in the confirmed cases. The DOH also reported 14,298 testing backlogs.
The Philippines ranks first in the number of total cases in the Southeast Asian region, having 30,811 more cases than Indonesia that ranked second.
