A total of 200,504 individuals have tested positive as of August 16, while the Department of Health (DOH) have confirmed 161,253 COVID-19 cases on the same day. The data comes from the DOH Beat COVID-19 Philippine Situationer 112th Issue published late evening of August 17.
There is a difference of 39,251 cases between those that tested positive and the number of cases DOH confirmed. The DOH has yet to validate these 39,251 cases to know whether this number would be included in the confirmed cases.
Cumulative positivity rate is now 10.4%, with 1,933,742 individuals tested.
The Health agency reported 3,587 testing backlogs on August 17, from a report of 78/100 labs.
As of 4pm of August 17, the DOH reported 164,474 total COVID-19 cases. A total of 3,314 confirmed cases are reported on this day based on the total tests done by 91 out of 105 current operational labs.
