Duque: Metro Manila’s COVID-19 cases already reached their peak

Health Secretary Francis Duque said Metro Manila’s latest COVID-19 cases have already reached its peak.

“Lumalabas nag-peak na at makikita natin ilang araw nang sunod-sunod bumababa ang kaso sa NCR at lumiliit ang porsyentong inaambag nito sa ating total caseload,”  said Duque.

The Health Secretary also added that easing NCR to Alert Level 2 restriction will depend within the 2 weeks growth rate, an average daily attack rate and below 49% health care utilization rate.

Today, Metro Manila logs additional 4,018 new COVID-19 cases with a total of 72,382 active cases; 1,045,307 recoveries and 11,571 deaths, January 24, 2022.

Quezon City remains the top city with the highest active and new cases of the respiratory disease with a total of 14,647 active cases; 1,030 new cases, 3,331 recoveries and 5 deaths were added today, garnering an average of 92.8% recovery rate and 1.0% fatality rate.

Meanwhile, Navotas City is the city with the lowest number of COVID-19 cases among the cities in Metro Manila with 536 active cases listing 29 new cases today. A total of 21,642 total cases, 20,906 recoveries and 200 deaths throughout the pandemic, garnering an average of 96.6% recovery rate and 0.9% fatality rate

The country now has 262,997 total active cases; 24,938 new covid cases, 35,376 new recoveries and 47 new deaths were added today.
