Dr. Rosalinda “Rose” Pulido

With 1,075 cases of COVID-19 and a total of 68 deaths, as reported by the Department of Health on Saturday, the country continues to grapple with the crisis brought by this pandemic. Among the deceased is Dr. Rosalinda “Rose” DS Pulido who died last March 21.

Dr. Pulido was medical oncologist in San Juan De Dios Hospital in Manila and in St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center. Before helping COVI19 patients, Dr. Rose Pulido was in service to patients suffering from cancer.

Her death was announced in a memorandum released by St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center where she is a member of the medical consultant staff. According to the statement released last March 22, Dr. Pulido was considered a Patient Under Investigation (PUI) and that the results of her test are still unavailable.

“Lastly, in our personal way, let us offer our prayer and last respects to our dear departed colleague. Her expertise and kindness will surely be missed,” the statement reads.

Dr. Pulido received her medical degree from De La Salle University Health Science Institute from Batch ‘97. She is a member of the Philippine Society of Medical Oncology.

Dr. Pulido was the second doctor to die from the disease.

The Philippine Medical Association’s president Dr. Jose P. Santiago, Jr. has expressed solidarity to the country’s health workers. Released last March 17, the statement also mentioned the lack of personal protective equipment or PPE necessary for health workers who are at risk of exposure.
