Underground revolutionary youth group Kabataang Makabayan Lucille Gypsy Zabala Brigade (KM – LGZ) and artists group Artista at Manunulat ng Sambayanan – Marlon Caacbay Brigade (ARMAS – MC) conducted a lightning rally on Wednesday, November 29 in Recto Avenue, Manila to commemorate the youth group’s upcoming 59th anniversary on November 30.
In its 59th anniversary, the revolutionary groups emphasized the historic and ever-significant role of the youth in attaining genuine peace and democracy.
“Sa loob ng limang dekada at siyam na taon, makasaysayan ang papel ng Kabataang Makabayan sa pagtaguyod ng bagong demokratikong rebolusyong bayan na magpapapalaya sa bayan mula sa salot ng imperyalismo, pyudalismo, at burukrata kapitalismo,” said KM – LGZ in its statement.
[In the course of five decades and nine years, the role of Kabataang Makabayan has been historic in advocating for a new democratic revolution that will liberate the nation from the scourge of imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucratic capitalism]
The youth group strongly criticized the Marcos-Duterte administration in its intensified campaign to escalate terror, killings, corruption, and subservience to foreign countries such as the United States and China at the expense of our democratic rights and national sovereignty.
“Mula sa paglawak ng digmang proxy, napipintong inter-imperyalistang digmaan, at pagaanak ng mga krisis sa lipunan na likha ng imperyalismo, pyudalismo, at burukrata kapitalismo na nagpapahirap nang lubos sa masang anakpawis. Kontraktuwalisasyon, mababang sahod, mataas na presyo ng bilihin, kakulangan sa serbisyong panlipunan, at pandadahas ang tanging tugon ng ilehitimong rehimen US-Marcos-Duterte sa kahilingan sambayanang Pilipino,” the youth group continued.
[The continuing of proxy wars, the impending inter-imperialist conflict, and the emergence of societal crises brought about by imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucratic capitalism have greatly burdened the working masses. Contractualization, low wages, high prices of goods, lack of social services, and repression are the only responses of the illegitimate US-Marcos-Duterte regime to the demands of the Filipino people]
KM – LGZ added that the foundation of waging the five-decade-long revolution is just and necessary, saying that it is only inevitable and can never be stopped even through the use of force as concocted by the reactionary state.
“Hindi sa paggamit ng dahas matitigil ang agos ng rebolusyon at hindi makikitil ang rebolusyonaryong adhikain na naghahangad lutasin at baguhin ang lipunang malakolonyal at malapyudal,” said KM -LGZ.
[Waging the revolution will not be halted by the use of violence and so are the revolutionary aspirations to resolve the semi-colonial and semi-feudal society]
KM – LGZ also called on fellow youth and Filipinos to join the revolution to end all forms of exploitation.
“Mula noon at hanggang sa kasalukuyan, mahigpit nating tanganan ang makatarungang papel ng Kabataang Makabayan! Laksa-laksa nating tunguhin ang kanayunan! Pagsilbihan ang Sambayanan! Ipagtagumpay ang Demokratikong Rebolusyong Bayan! Ipagtagumpay ang armadong rebolusyon laban sa mersenaryo at pasistang AFP-PNP. Sumapi sa tunay na hukbo ng mamamayan! Sumapi sa Bagong Hukbong Bayan!” the underground group ended.
