Member organizations of the National Democratic Front – National Capital Region (NDF-NCR) held a lightning rally in Baclaran, Pasay to celebrate the 57th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP).
[Let us do everything in our power to expand and strengthen the Party and the organized ranks of the masses. Rectify errors and overcome all weaknesses and hesitation]
In the last 57 years, the CPP, NDF, and its armed wing New People’s Army, have steadfastly waged revolutionary war to pursue national democracy with a socialist perspective against imperialism, bureaucrat capitalism, and feudalism.
Underground revolutionary youth group Kabataang Makabayan Lucille Gypsy Zabala Brigade (KM – LGZ) and artists group Artista at Manunulat ng Sambayanan – Marlon Caacbay Brigade (ARMAS – MC) also joined the said rally.
NDF NCR lambasted the US–Marcos–Duterte regime for paving the way to deepening socioeconomic and political crises, as evidenced by the successive eruption of scandals involving flood control and infrastructure projects. The group added that the factional strife between Marcos Jr. and Duterte, dubbed the “hari at reyna ng korupsyon” (king and queen of corruption), has intensified conflicts among the ruling classes and further aggravated the continued plunder carried out by bureaucrat capitalists.
[The rivalry between the king and queen of corruption will culminate in a contest over who among them is the more servile puppet of US imperialism]
NDF-Metro Manila stressed that the CPP is in a vital position to lead the mass struggle to expand and strengthen the revolutionary mass movement in both urban and rural areas to advance the people’s democratic revolution.
[Draw out and unite the anger in the hearts of the masses and lead their struggles, especially in the face of severe oppression and exploitation. For new tasks, we need new forces filled with determination, vitality, and militancy. Let us replace those who have been lost or have grown weak]
In the lightning rally, the group also extended their highest tribute and salute to the martyrs of the: the brave commanders and fighters of the New People’s Army, the leaders and members of revolutionary mass organizations, and the masses who offered their lives so that the people’s war could advance and reach its present level.
[Let us commemorate the past 57 years of revolutionary struggle from emergence to advance, through retreats and renewed advances, and through victories, setbacks, and even greater victories. Let us trace the history of the revolutionary struggle for national and social liberation. Let us draw lessons and inspiration from the sacrifices of martyrs and heroes and from previous generations of proletarian revolutionaries]
The CPP was founded on December 26, the birthday of Chinese revolutionary leader Mao Zedong. The CPP has been waging an armed revolution spanning over five decades.
