295 COVID-19 cases among health workers reported in the last week brings total to 3,938

The Department of Health (DOH) continued to report cases among health workers on a weekly basis, discontinuing earlier practice of publishing daily on weekdays, as the total of COVID-19 cases among health workers have not reached 3,938.

Additional cases reported in the last week number to 295.

Of the health care frontliners infected with COVID-19, nurses remain the most affected at 1,391, while 960 are doctors, 273 are nursing assistants, 164 are medical technologists, 100 are radiologic technologists, 68 are midwives, 38 are respiratory therapists, and 27 are pharmacists. Non-medical staff, such as admin staff, utility, dietary staff, driver, barangay health worker, security guard and caregiver, infected with COVID-19 has reached 584.

The active cases are 712 or 18% of all those who got infected. Of the active cases, 218 are identified to be in health care facilities (31% of active cases.) Most of those confined, now at 148, are in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City, while 7 are in Eastern Visayas Medical Center in Tacloban City, and the 63 left are in various hospitals in Metro Manila.

Those who recovered have reached 3,191 with 441 reported in the last week. Deaths now at 35, with one new death reported in the last week.
