The Department of Health (DOH) Beat COVID-19 Philippine Situationer with data as of August 15 recorded 108 new COVID-19 cases in a day among health workers, bringing the total to 6,006.
The DOH also reported 901 active cases among health workers, reporting 63 cases more than yesterday. Of the active cases, 2 are critical, 4 severe, 667 mild and 228 asymptomatic. In one day, 45 new recoveries were recorded, bringing the total to 5,066. Deaths remain at 39 since August 2.
A total of 196,727 individuals have tested positive, while the DOH have confirmed 157,918 COVID-19 cases. There is a difference of 38,809 cases that tested positive that the DOH have yet to validate to know whether this number would be included in the confirmed cases.
The Philippines rank first in the number of total cases in the Southeast Asian region, having 20,000 more cases in the country than Indonesia that ranked second.
